Gwen Owens - Director
All age levels in Ballet and Tap

With over 44 years of experience, Gwen is an accomplished teacher of young children. A professional dancer in London and Europe, she performed on stage, BBC Television and film before coming to live in Dallas and opening her own studio. She brings a rare versatility to her Dance Program that reflects years of study and a love of many types of Dance. Gwen has been affiliated with the Royal Academy of Dancing for many years, entering the graded exams as a young student and taking the Teacher Training Courses, both in America and London. She is a certified member of the Texas Association of Teachers of Dancing. Gwen is a vocal supporter of the Dallas Dance Council where she is currently on the Board of Directors. The studio is actively involved in the annual festivals: Dance for the Planet and National Tap Dance Day. She has taught musical theatre for the Garland Civic Theatre Children’s Camps and is currently the Children’s Coordinator for the Moscow Ballet Company production of the Nutcracker at the Majestic Theatre. Her daughters Michele and Misty are accomplished, professional dancers and Dance Educators. Many of her former students have continued their studies in college and have successful careers as performers, teachers and studio owners.
Misty Owens – Co-Director & Teacher
Modern, Jazz and all ages Tap and Ballet
Misty Owens, MFA, recently returned to Dallas after 12 years of teaching, choreographing and performing in NYC. She has been dancing with the Peggy Spina Tap Company in NYC since 1993 performing in such venues as Jacob's Pillow, Town Hall, FIT, The New School and the Spina Loft. While in NY, she taught at Marymount Manhattan College, Long Island University and the Mark Morris Dance Group where she is a Founding Teacher of the Dance for Parkinson’s Disease classes and she was the Artistic Director of Student Companies I & II. She received honors from the NYC Tap Festival naming her Teacher of the Year and was presented with a proclamation from Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz and her tap company, Fulton Feet Express, in celebration of their outstanding community service throughout Brooklyn. Misty is currently living in Dallas, TX. teaching adjunct dance classes at TCCD, Dance for Movement Disorders at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, and she is Co - Director of the London School of Dance with Gwen Owens. She choreographed a tap dance last fall for Marvin Hamlisch and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra's Christmas Pops Show on dance students from BTWHSPVA.

Eileen McKee - Teacher
Intermediate and Advanced Ballet

Born in Dallas, Eileen received a prestigious Ford Foundation Scholarship to the School of American Ballet as a teen and a full dance scholarship to SMU where she was also assistant to Nikita Talin.

Eileen has performed with numerous national companies including Harkness Ballet of New York, Berkeley Ballet, Miami Ballet, Ballet Pacifica of Laguna Beach and Los Angeles Choreographers and Dancers (a modern dance company). She has studied ballet with such notable instructors as George Balanchine and his staff at the School of American Ballet (including Alexandra Danilova); Madame Pereyeslavic and Anthony Tudor at American Ballet Theatre; David Howard, Maggie Black and Vladimir Doukodovsky, NYC; modern dance with Yuriko of the Martha Graham Company and Merce Cunningham; and jazz with Matt Maddox and Luigi.

Eileen taught for many years with Mme. Nathalie Krassovsksa and was the Rehearsal Director for The Ballet Jeunesse.

Nancy Roberts Pistilli – Teacher
Musical Theatre, Tap and Pre-school

20Nancy started her training with Texie Waterman at 3 years of age. Finding her lifelong vocation she continued her studies with Texie, teaching for her while in high school. Nancy majored in theatre and dance in college and returned to teach for Texie until the studio closed. Nancy has a well-earned reputation in the Garland, Mesquite and DFW area for her work in community theatres where she is an active choreographer, director and actress. Most recently she choreographed Pirates of Penzance for the Irving Community Theatre and Nunsense for the Mesquite Community Theatre.

Emilie Rupp - Teacher
Ballet and Pointe
Emilie Rupp Began her classical ballet training at age 6 with Gilbert Rome and Victoria Vittum in Houston TX. She performed with the Houston Repertoire Ballet for seven years, cast in various roles in the Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, Swan Lake and original works by the directors. Growing up she studied at summer intensives, including the Joffrey Ballet, Austin Ballet and Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. This past summer (2011), she attended the SIBA International training program in Salzburg, Austria. While the primary focus of her training was in classical ballet, she also has experience in modern, jazz, and contemporary dance.

In 2007, Emilie attained her BA in French from the University of North Texas, while remaining highly active with the local dance community. She began teaching ballet in early 2006 and has since then strived to make teaching and freelance dancing the prominent focuses in her life.

Currently, Emilie is working as Co-Founder and Director of Dallas Neo-Classical Ballet. She has also been performing with Contemporary Ballet Dallas since 2008.
Catie French - Teacher
Hip-Hop, Jazz and Drill Team
Catie has been training in Dance and Gymnastics in Boston, MA and Austin, TX since she was four years old. She studied several disciplines, including Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, Tap, Acrobatics, and Cheer. Catie attended Westlake High School in Austin where she served as a Lieutenant on the Westlake Hyline Dance Team and was a member of their elite Jazz Company and Honor Kick Line. After high school, she attended The University of Texas at Austin where she was a member of the Texas Pom Squad and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre and Dance. Throughout her dancing years, she earned several awards for her ability and positive attitude, including Starmaker Solo Finalist, Texas Pom Squad Game Day Performer of the Year, and the Texas Pom Squad “Best Attitude” award. In Austin, she worked at several studios and instructed children 18 months through 16 years old in jazz, hip-hop, gymnastics, cheer, and drill team prep. Catie enjoys working with young dancers and is proud of her 100% success rate in several of her drill team preparation courses. Currently, Catie serves as the Assistant Director of the Lake Highlands Highlandette Drill Team and is excited to bring her passion and expertise to the students at the London School of Dance.
